This particular Breitling Navitimer 806 is distinguished by its rare LIP dial, a feature that holds significant historical importance. The LIP branding appears on the dial because of a partnership between Breitling and the French watch company LIP during the 1960s. Breitling sought to expand its presence in France and complied with French regulations requiring watches to carry a local distributor’s mark. The result was the LIP-marked Navitimer dials, which were produced in very limited quantities.
